This Greeting Card features a design inspired by theNew Romantic scene of the late 1970s-early 1980s, when bands such as Visage, Culture Club and Adam & The Ants created a sound influenced by the glam rock stars of the previous decade such as David Bowie and RoxyMusic.

Rejecting the austerity and anti-fashion stance of punk, the New Romantics and their fans cultivated a striking look that drew on historical themes, including frilly fop shirts based on the stylesofthe English Romantic period, Russian constructivism and Bonnie Prince Charlie.
