Hooray For The Little Red Hen - By Debbie Campbell
Product Description
In the spring, an industrious Little Red Hen finds some grains of wheat and asks her friends, the Cat, Rat and Pig to help her grow them. But they refuse so she does it herself. By autumn the grains have grown into golden wheat. Again she single-handedly harvests and threshes it before taking the grain to the windmill to be ground into flour. When at last she bakes a delicious loaf of bread from the flour, her hungry 'friends' are disappointed that they are not asked to share it with her! The moral of the story is that it's much more fun to share the work as well as the food!
This is a great musical for Harvest Festivals but it can be performed during all seasons throughout the year.
With 8 lively songs and dances and a witty script with plenty of solo and chorus parts, Hooray For The Little Red Hen is suitable for Key Stages 1-2 (ages 5-11). Cross curricular aspects include food, farming and weather, science, geography, citizenship, music, dance, drama, art and design.
